It's been a good week so far - everything going smoothly (except for the major repair work on Bent Spur Road). The conversion of our top playground to a temporary car park has eased the congestion  - thank you for your patience before & after school - and things should be back to 'normal' after…

Today some of our brains were a bit sleepy so we did our number fun exercises to help wake them up!

We had lots of fun and then did some super learning!

Year 1 are really impressing us with their funny places for reading.  We are having lots of fun looking at the photographs and talking about them.

Can anyone else find a strange place to get caught reading?

During our topic the children have planned an investigation to see how the size of the parachute effects the time it takes to reach the ground, as a result of air resistance and gravity. Do you think the bigger or smaller parachute will fall the fastest? Why?

This morning we have been transforming nouns into adjectives. We have looked at the different rules when adding the suffix 'ous' to root words.

We have been having fun finding averages with Smarties in Maths today! 

Today in Year 1 we have been introduced to Mr. Punctuation.  We have started to learn all about him and how he is going to help us with our punctuation.

One group even started to make their own Mr. Punctuation.

We were really impressed with some of the places Year 1 have been caught reading this weekend!
