Class Read

Everyone remembers their secret imaginary world....but what if you discovered that yours was real?

When Arthur and Rose were little, they were the heroes of Roar, a magical world they invented where the wildest creations of their imaginations roamed. Now that they're eleven, Roar is just a distant memory. But it hasn't forgotten them.

When their grandfather is spirited away into Roar by the villain who still haunts their nightmares, Arthur and Rose must go back to the world they'd almost left behind. And when they get there, they discover that Grandad isn't the only one who needs their help.

Year 4 will be reading this enchanting, action-packed novel during the Spring Term and it is perfect for readers who have always dreamed of exploring Narnia and Neverland.

Topics This Half Term

Geography - Europe

This half term we will be finding out all about Europe, We will be doing lots of map work, making comparisons and using our computing research skills to find out about different countries within Europe. We will look at both human and physical geography within this topic and investigate holiday destinations within the Mediterranean.

There will be quizzes, comprehension challenges and the chance to become a travel agent and use persuasive techniques to get people wanting to come to your favourite European holiday destination. Which country and popular tourist destination will you choose?

Science - Sound

In Science this half term we are looking at Sound. This will involve us naming parts of the ear, recognising how sound is heard, made and how it travels. We will be doing different sound experiments and investigating different types of sound. Can you create the low and high pitched sounds? How can we measure how loud sound is and do different animals hear different things?
