Our School Choir will join with All Saints Choir at Farnworth Library to perform some carols and Christmas songs at their Coffee and Carols event. What a lovely opportunity to get into the festive spirit.

FOSSS Carols and Cakes

FOSSS are holding a Coffee Afternoon in the School Hall. They would like to invite all of you to come along and enjoy a coffee and a cake whilst listening to our wonderful school choir prior to collecting your child at the end of the school day.

Brass Performance

Year 4 will showcase their new found talent with their brass instrument by performing for parents and carers in a special assembly in the School Hall. The progress they have made in such a short space of time is incredible.

KS2 will have the opportunity to take part in the Christingle Service in the evening. This is a lovely Service and we hope to see as many of our children and their families as possible.

The Christingle Service will be held in Church for Key Stage 1 in the afternoon. This is a lovely service and we hope you will be able to join us for it. Your child will sit with parents during the service in which a collection for The Children's Society will be made.

We will be celebrating our new kitchen with a feast this year. The whole school can take part in sharing a tasty Christmas dinner together with festive jumpers, hats, crackers and carols.

KS1 can don party clothes for their disco and dance the night away. Or at least until 7.45 p.m.

Reception Nativity

Parents, friends and relatives are very welcome to come along to watch the children present their version of the Christmas story. Please note the taking of photographs and videos is not permitted. Please can you bring your child to school for 8.15 a.m. to allow enough time for the staff to get all the children ready in their costumes.

Children from Reception to Year 6 will lead the service with readings they have written themselves. Please come along to celebrate Christmas with us and enjoy the Nativity Tableau which will be presented by our Year 1 children.

Year 2 Great Fire of London Workshop

As part of their topic work on the Great Fire of London, Year 2 will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop and relive through the four days when the fire swept through the city of London.

Year 4 will take part in a Roman Workshop to help bring their topic work to life.

Year 6 British Red Cross Workshop

Year 6 will take part in a Refugee Workshop organised by the British Red Cross. The workshop is aimed to help children explore the impact of stigmatising behaviour towards refugees, migrants and asylum seekers. They will learn why someone may have to flee their home and analyse the harmful effects of unwelcoming and hostile behaviour.

Year 3 Warburtons Workshop

Year 3 will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop delivered by Warburtons. They will learn about the benefits of healthy eating and how to prepare food safely and hygienically.

Mini Enterprise Week

This week will see all classes taking part in MIni Enterprise Week where they will swap their classroom for the boardroom in true 'Apprentice' style. Each class will need to think of an initiative and pitch it, in an assembly, to the rest of the school. They will then need to cost the project and forecast profit margins. At the end of the week, each class will then have the opportunity to sell their products to the rest of the school.

Year 5 JuniorSTEM Workshop

As part of the science topic work this half term, JuniorSTEM will deliver a Lego computing workshop which will encourage creativity and problem solving as well as all aspects of design and technology. The children will have the opportunity to design, write and debug programs.

Year 6 Crucial Crew

As part of their work in PHSE (Physical, Social and Health Education) the Year 6 children will take part in the Crucial Crew Scheme. The aim of the workshop is to provide children with life skills which will enable them to keep themselves and others safe.

Year 5 Bikeability

Year 5 will have the opportunity to take part in cycle training organised by Bikeability. The training sessions will suit any ability from the basic first steps of cycling taught in a traffic-free environment to teaching the skills and knowledge required to keep children safe on today's roads.

The second of a two day course to teach Year 5 road safety on bikes. Your child will need a road worthy bike and cycle helmet.
