Bowl of water reflection technique. Very successful. Thomas explained the phenomenon as the moon playing peekaboo with the sun. We all noticed it got very cold because the sun couldn't warm us up. It was very exciting.

Sadly our view finders didn't work as planned, however Mrs Stott had a plan B.

You all remember the advert. We recreated it using Jaffa cakes. So here goes... Full moon.

We had lots of fun this morning outside with Year 1 looking for the solar eclipse. We were really lucky that it was a little bit cloudy so we could see the moon covering the sun. We took out a piece of card with a pin hole in it to help us see clearly what was happening. Did you see it too?

We viewed the reflection of the solar eclipse, safely, in a tray of water. 

A great end to 'British Science Week' has seen us witness the solar eclipse (from behind a lot of cloud) - the temperature dropped and it appeared to be much darker!

To begin we had a lesson with Chris, we talked about the water cycle and we pretended to be water in the ocean that evaporated and travelled over a mountain and rained back into rivers that led back into the oceans.
