Stories from other Cultures
Our Literacy unit is 'Stories from other Cultures'.
Today we have read an extract from 'The Pearl Diver' by Julia Johnson set in the Arabian Gulf. We found out that the chances of finding a pearl in an oyster is 1 in 10,000!
Computerised Nocturnal Animals
This afternoon we have been using ictgames on the Internet to research nocturnal animals. We then worked on 2Simple to create a picture of our favourite nocturnal animal.
Building Similes
Today we have been learning about a new sentence type, similes. We had lots of fun using the special cards to build our own similes. Why not ask us to tell you a simile?
Happy Little Gardeners!
Reception Class were very busy in the garden planting lots of beautiful plants. What a difference a bit of colour makes!
Painting People
We carefully selected the correct paint brushes and thought about the skin tone of the person.
Ten more and ten less
Today we calculated ten more and ten less than any given 2 digit number . Some of us used diennes apparatus to support our learning. It's a tricky skill but once you've understood the concepts Maths just gets that little bit easier.
Important people
We painted pictures of people who are important in our lives. Can you spot anyone that you know?
Star Award Winner
Congratulations to last week's Star Award winner, who won it for his brilliant singing during our Easter assembly.
Wonder what's happening in Reception?
Today we have been busy planting our sunflower seeds. We have put them in the poly tunnel and will be sending them home soon for you to show some tender loving care!
