Year one recognise that Jesus is a very important person to all Christians. We have also shown other important people who help shape our lives including family, friends and teachers. 

Our bats are finally finished! Don't they look good flying around our classroom?  We hope no one disturbs them, as you could be fined or sent to prison if you do! 

The children have continued to explore the character of the wolf using different versions of the three little pigs, researching using print and moving images. Through our topic we are developing our own indestructable homes using everyday materials in an attempt to thwart the big, bad hair dryer…

Today we have used the bee bot app to perfect our control sequences.

Continuing with our Topic work on nocturnal animals we have been making our own acrostic poems.  We had to use either nocturnal, hedgehog, badger or fox as the basis of our poem.  We had lots of good ideas and they look really good displayed in our nocturnal area.

As part of our Topic work on nocturnal animals we are busy making our very own bats!

Remember yesterday when we had been building similes with special cards?  Well today we have been making our own similes using our own ideas!  Have you asked us to tell you a simile yet?

This morning we started to work on something brand new in Numeracy.  At first it looked really tricky but by playtime we were getting really good at it, let's hope it's even easier tomorrow! 

Over recent years we have forged very strong links with Kearsley Academy. We are currently sending some of our Year 6 pupils on 'Brainiacs' sessions where the children receive additional coaching in English and mathematics (just in time for SATs!). Our English Brainiacs are pictured here waiting…
