Meet Marley!
This morning we had something rather strange brought in from home.
This little frog, who has been named Marley, had been found in someone's garden and is now living happily in our Eco Garden.
Busy Scientists
We have been making simple circuits following challenge cards.
Learning Logs
Today the children have shared their learning logs that they completed over the holidays. There was some really interesting and creative work. Well done Year 5!
A Short Week But a Good One!
We crammed a lot into the first three days of the new school year and it's gone very smoothly so far (touch wood). Everyone has settled in well to school routines, the classrooms look great and the teachers are smiling!
The picture shows the new School Council (elected by their classmates…
Music Lessons
Today we had our first brass lesson. We have tried playing both cornets and baritones to see which we will be playing. We used drumsticks to practice our rhythm and had a go at playing our new instruments.
Pirate Preparation
We have been designing our own pirate scarecrow ready for the scarecrow festival linking our learning about St Lucia to a great community event.
Emerald Pitons
Using some techniques that we learnt from exploring the works of our St Lucian artist Llewellyn Xavier we replicated the famous landmark using chalks and paper for the silhouettes.
Eco Art
Thank you everyone who has been donating old bottle tops it has really helped us with our artwork based on the sound of the morning by Llewellyn Xavier, first we organised them and then photographed our design, finally we embellished the photos with the bottle tops to go one better than the artist…
Who needs toys when you've got a box?
A new delivery of resources for Year Two arrived however all the children wanted to do was to recreate Christopher Columbus's Ship in packaging! Some things never change!
Our Beautiful Reflection Area
Using tissue paper, a plastic bag and a glue water mix we have created these lovely crosses for our reflection zone.
Friendship Spirals
We all needed to remember how to write after our holidays and so we made our friendship spirals showing who we like to spend time with.
Memories
Awe bless... The girls are checking out our new reading corner and have discovered a book they made on entry to Reception Class! Wow how they've changed!
