Today we have started working on our self portraits.  We will show you the finished pieces when they are ready!

Welcome to Year 1.  We hope you have had a nice summer and are ready for some more learning.  

A few key things you need to know;

• PE is on Tuesday and Thursday.
• Reading books are checked daily and changed when required.
• 'Beanbag' bags will go home with 4 children on a Wednesday to be…

Well done to our Pupil of the Year! 

Please send your child into school tomorrow wearing their full PE kit.  They need pumps/trainers, blue PE shorts and their house coloured PE t-shirt.  They will also need their school jumper, sun hat, water bottle and book bag.

During free choice time, some of the children wanted to carry on with their work on measuring from this morning.  They decided to work as a group to make the biggest tower possible, it was a gigantic 100cm tall (and that was after the top fell off!)

We are getting extremely good at our number bonds to 10 and 20.  Why don't you have a look at them in the playground?

Today we have been very busy working out who is the tallest and shortest.  We worked outside and had to draw around our friend.  We then used our hands to measure how many hands tall we are.

We have hunted down ten different animals from St Lucia and then collected data based on the most popular species for our new to Year Two class.

This is our artist for our first term in Year Two.

Tomorrow Year 1 will be spending the day in Year 2 in preparation for September.
