Junk Modelling with Mr. Shuttleworth
To finish off Art week we have had lots of fun making flowers out of junk. We were very lucky to have an artist, Mr. Shuttleworth, here to help us.
Claude Monet's Water Lilies
Today we have started to learn about Monet and his artwork. We have started to make our own Water Lilies work by colour mixing to create a pond.
Art Workshop with Mr. Templeton
Today we had a visit from an artist, Mr Templeton. We worked in the hall to create a watercolour painting based on the Aurora Borealis. We are very proud of our work and we hope you will come and see it in our exhibition in June.
Printing in Year 1

Tens and Ones
To help us with our number knowledge Year 1 have been working with the Dienes equipment. We began our learning by exchanging ten ones for one ten. We took it in turns to be responsible for exchanging the tens. It was lots of fun.
Addition in Year 1
To help consolidate our understanding of addition we have been using cubes to display each number on each side of our card before combining them to find the total.
