It was the Day Before the End of Term......
What does Thursday hold in store.....? We start with the long-awaited Reception Nativity this morning then it's up to church with the choir and the readers for a final practice for tomorrow's service. It's party time for Reception this afternoon and then straight into the two FOSSS Discos this…
Who's That Knocking at the Door?
Trying to grab some sleep in the office this afternoon but disturbed by four Year 1 pupils dressed as an American Indian, a princess, a surgeon and a cowgirl. It's been that kind of day!
Another Picture from our TESCO Gig
Forgot to say thank you to Mr Lee and Mrs Savage for making this morning's performance so enjoyable and WELL DONE to all our wonderful children!
Every Little Helps!
Our school choir entertained shoppers (and raised money for the 'Little Princess Trust' charity at the same time) at the TESCO store in Farnworth this morning. The children sang beautifully - we had lots of very nice comments from shoppers - and we were superbly looked after by Dave and the rest…
What are you GIVING this Christmas? (Morning Assembly)
The story of 'The Widow's Mite' was the theme for this morning's assembly. Parents, children and the wider community have shown their generosity over recent weeks through donations to the school and to the British Legion. We talked about how, whether we are rich or poor, we can make this a GIVING…
Brilliant Brass!
Before our Celebration Assembly this afternoon we were treated to a short concert from Year 4. Miss Minshall has been teaching brass to the group every Friday this term and the children played (and sang) beautifully. It was a real treat and a great way to start the weekend!
Feeding the Quarter Thousand!
Not quite a miracle but pretty impressive nonetheless. Andrea and her (extended) team provided a wonderful traditional Christmas Dinner for 248 special guests at lunchtime. More turkey anyone?
A Very Festive Assembly!
Reverend Kim led assembly this morning and did well to hold the attention of two hundred excited children dressed in Christmas jumpers. They look brilliant this morning - thank you for your support - all donations will go to the charity 'Save the Children'. Next on the agenda today is the…
Links with Kearsley Academy
As you'll be aware we have very strong links with Kearsley Academy - including the Children's University Programme, hosting POP UK and visits to the Technology and Science Departments. Staff from the PE Department also deliver a year round programme for all Key Stage 2 pupils which provides high…
Chooseday Evening
Not a bad day all in all. Hard work all morning, good weather (and pizza) at lunchtime, great turnout for the FOSSS event in the afternoon, Boot Camp after school and a rather neat view of St Stephen's Church tower as I left the building. It certainly was a day I'd choose again.
Just Another Gig for the School Choir
Providing the Carols to go with the Coffee and Cakes this afternoon were the St Stephen's School Choir. They've already sung at the Kearsley Lights Switch-on and at a charity concert at Manchester Cathedral this month and next Tuesday you can catch them performing outside the TESCO store on Long…
Coffee, Cakes and Carols
We held our traditional Coffee, Cakes and Carols Afternoon today. The choir (including our Family Choir members) sang beautifully and the hall was full to bursting (and so were many of our parents - those cakes were hard to resist!). ANOTHER successful FOSSS event thanks to YOUR support - THANK…
