Quiet Please - We're Recording
After three intensive days of learning new songs we're ready to record our new POP UK CD. (Available in all good record stores and from Mrs Bonnar soon). The children sound fantastic and I'm really looking forward to next Thursday's performance at Kearsley Academy - ticket details will be in…
School Council
Great School Council meeting this week. The children have some great ideas for the school. We spent the session re-writing the website page and planning for future events.
A Big THANK YOU!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the parents and children at St Stephen's are BRILLIANT! Thank you for all the wonderful donations from hard earned wage packets and long saved money boxes. The response today has been fantastic and will ensure that the Poppy Appeal collection tin is full…
Remembrance Day Assembly
This morning the whole school came together in a special Remembrance Assembly to honour those who have sacrificed their lives in war for us. A poppy wreath was laid on the altar and children and staff stood together to observe a two minute silence. This was the first time our new altar cloth…
Plenty of Knit Along With the Natter!

Putting a Smile Back on my Face
Yesterday morning was one of the low points of my time at St Stephen's when I arrived to find that the school had been broken into overnight. As well as considerable damage to the building and the theft of laptops and i-pads, the thieves had also helped themselves to the money collected by our…
Kearsley Remembrance Parade
What a fantastic show of support! THANK YOU to all those families who turned up in the pouring rain to represent St Stephen's at yesterday's Kearsley Remembrance Parade.
I Love Tuesdays!

It's Good to be Back (I Survived Dearne Valley!)
Welcome back! I hope you had an enjoyable half-term break - I spent the first part of it recovering from a brilliant Y6 residential in Dearne Valley (see above). The children were a credit to their parents and to the school. Now it's back down to business as usual at St Stephen's - watch this…
Tournament Finalists!
Six of our Year 6 pupils represented the school in a Bolton 5-a-side Football tournament yesterday. They won their group to progress to the semi-final - which they also won. In a hard fought final they were narrowly beaten to finish as runners-up. They were presented with their medals in this…
Keeping the Gardens Growing
Whilst on 'walkabout' at lunchtime I came across one of our Head Gardeners and two young apprentices keeping the grounds looking lovely.
Making Music with Mr Lee
Whilst on my afternoon walkabout I came across this very talented bunch of musicians in the hall.Year 4 are learning to write music and then play it on the recorder - Mr Lee says he's very pleased with their progress. They certainly sounded good to me!
