Lord Sugar Would Be Impressed!
As you probably know, this week is Mini Enterprise Week at St Stephen's and this morning all classes took part in a special assembly to advertise their products to the rest of the school. There were some really creative ideas and I can see that competition is going to be fierce at Friday…
Cancel the Ark!
It's FINALLY stopped raining! The Governors' Centenary Clock records the moment that blue skies appeared over Kearsley for the first time this year (that's what it feels like anyway). I'm happy to say that the children are able to go outside to play for a change and run off some…
'All Saint Stephen's' - Working Together Again
ANOTHER joint project with our link school - All Saint's CE Primary School in Farnworth. This time we welcomed Year 4 for the morning to share ideas as part of our Mini Enterprise Week. There was some fantastic collaborative work going on - can't wait to see the results.
Happy New (Chinese) Year
This morning's assembly was all about the Chinese New Year which gave us a chance to think about different cultures around the world and understand that other people's beliefs, even if they are different to our own, should be respected. It's not a new year at St Stephen's but it IS a new week -…
A Rather SPECIAL Top Table!
If you look VERY closely you'll see that one of our Top Table guests was celebrating her seventh birthday. We lit the candle, we dimmed the lights and everyone sang Happy Birthday! A nice way to end another busy week...
Playing by Numbers
We combined making music with raising money for the NSPCC today. As you can see, several 'Wayne Rooneys' joined Year 4 playing brass this morning. Thank you to all parents for your support in raising funds for a very worthy cause.
'All Saint Stephen's' - Working Together
Whenever our children get together with All Saints Primary School from Farnworth we morph into 'All Saint Stephen's'. It was great to see the two classes working so well together yesterday - making bread (and a bit of a mess!) as part of their 'Great Fire of London' history topic…
An Afternoon with Year 2
Mrs Faulkner was out on some very important business this afternoon which gave me the chance to spend time with Year 2 following up on the morning's Great Fire of London workshop. I was ably assisted by Mrs Robinson and Miss Tilbrook and the children were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a delight…
Mid Week Already!
HOW did I get to Wednesday without making time for my blog? (must be an age thing). Anyway, it's been a good week so far with six classes taking part in the RSPB workshops and generating some VERY positive comments about their knowledge, behaviour and enthusiasm. As I type, Year 4 are no doubt…
Top Table Diners!
Always a great way to end a busy week - being toasted by last week's Star award winners at the Top Table. Well done!
What a Difference a Day Makes!
Yesterday was all tail end of Storm Jonas and today is all blue skies and sunshine - which makes for a much happier playtime for everyone. The usual busy day at St Stephen's - we started the day with Reverend Kim Lafferty leading the school assembly before Year 3 (accompanied by Chair of Governors…
G & T's All Round
We took two of our Gifted & Talented gymnasts to a special training session at Bolton Gymnastics Club this morning. The girls represented the school really well - even when tumbling through the air with amazing agility!
