Here we are making a Christingle in preparation for our Church service.

Maths is a very important aspect of life in Year Five.  Here we are applying our growing mathematical knowledge to either prove or disprove a series of mathematical statements.

We had so much fun with Del today finding out all about life in Mayan times!! We were lucky enough to carefully handle lots of artefacts and even take a look at what Mayan people ate!! 
What a fabulously interesting way to spend a morning in school!!!

Today we prepared for Advent by joining in Stir-Up Sunday by making a traditional Christmas cake as a St Stephen's Family.

We all got a turn to add ingredients in and mix, as we mixed we closed our eyes and made a wish.

As part of our WWII History topic work we have headed out this afternoon to the cenotaph on Manchester road to consider the impact of the war on our locality.
The children were incredibly respectful and we are very proud of them!

Today we celebrated our individuality and uniqueness by choosing a pair of mismatched socks that represented us. We talked about why we chose the socks we were wearing and about the significance of 'reaching out' and 'calling out, both slogans from this years campaign by Anti-Bullying…
