Symmetry
This morning we have been using mirrors, rulers and pencils to investigate true lines of symmetry in a range of 2D shapes.
Can your child recognise these times?
Please help your child to be confident with this aspect of the curriculum by giving your child the opportunity to read both analogue and digital clocks.
Time to learn to tell the time
For the remainder of the week the children will be applying their knowledge of fractions and multiplication to confidently tell the time to five minutes. Wish us luck! Don't forget to check out the time learning tiles on our learning wall via the Year 2 main page.
The bricklaying challenge
The children struggled to make a strong wall using stretcher bond bricklaying techniques despite our research.
Top Table - No Room for the Head!
We had EIGHT Top Table guests on Friday so there was no chair for the Head. You'll be pleased to know that I was on hand as waiter - taking orders, pouring red and white wine, that sort of thing - they were a pleasure to serve!
Planting our plants
Our seeds have started to turn into plants so we have transferred them into old wellies! We will be putting these outside when the weather is a bit nicer.
If you have any old wellies please send them into Year 1 and we will turn them into planters too!
Colour My World Enrichment...
Collaborative learning, teamwork, communication and language, finer motor skills .... it must be Friday afternoon!
Mrs Robinson's Reader of the Week
Well done for daily reading, awesome!
Marvellous Mathematicians
Well done to these two awesome girls who persevered with their fraction learning today as we worked out fractions of amounts. The girls even wanted to complete their learning during lunch. That's dedication in bucketfuls!
