Year 2 Blog

This afternoon we have been experimenting with chalk.  We've been trying different techniques to see what we could create.  We then applied our new skills to create our own pieces of artwork.

As part of our Maths work we have been learning about greater than, less than and equal to.  We have been using crocodiles to help us and thinking about which number the greedy crocodile would like to eat.

Thank you for all of your very kind Harvest donations.  Year 2 have been learning about Harvest and enjoyed watching Year 5's special Harvest assembly from church. 

This morning, we have been working with Miss Raisbeck from Minshall Music. We have been using boom Whackers to play lots of different tunes.

As part of our History work we have been learning about Grace Darling.  We then used our 2D drawing and painting skills to create this wonderful artwork.

In Year 2 we have been talking about how even though everyone is different, everyone is special in their own way.

Wet play doesn't have to mean no fun or exercise! Don't we make brilliant dancers!

To help us with our work on recognising 2 digit numbers we've been having lots of fun playing Bingo!

To finish off today's Maths lesson we've been busy showing off our work in the playground for everyone to see!

Today we took our dinners out into the Eco Garden and had a picnic.

 It was lots of fun!

It's been a long time since we all had to form our numbers.  To help us we've been learning a special trick.  Why not have a go at home and see if you can do it too!

We weren't able to have a transition day in July so we've been spending time getting to know eachother and seeing what new things we can learn about our friends.
