Topic this week!
This week in topic we have been using our knowledge about Anglo-Saxon Gods and Goddesses to create our own board games and crosswords. We then moved around the class so that everyone got a chance to play each other's games. Everyone had lots of fun!

England rugby team eat your heart out!
Year 5 have had their final session with the coaches from Bolton Rugby Club, who have been visiting us every Monday for our P.E lesson. The children have learnt a lot and really enjoyed playing rugby. We might even have a few future England players in the class!
Anglo-Saxon Gods & Goddesses
Year 5 have been busy researching Anglo-Saxon Gods and Goddesses as part of their homework. We have presented these in front of the class and have made our own book to be displayed in class!
Our Anglo-Saxon names
On Monday we were learning about the Runic alphabet. We created our own bookmarks with our names on, using the alphabet that the Anglo-Saxons used. We think they look great!

Science morning at Kearsley Academy

Our Anglo Saxon Village
This week Year 5 have created our own Anglo Saxon village as part of our Topic unit.
Understanding Money!
As part of mini-enterprise week the children have played the finance games on the Nationwide Website. The games are aimed at 7-11 years old and help with the children's' understanding in the area of financial capability.
Money Skills Workshop
To start off mini-enterprise week, Year 5 have participated in a workshop where they have discussed lots of important aspects of 'money', including needs and wants.
Gravity and Air Resistance
The children have planned their experiment and are now making their parachutes to test. Do you think the biggest or smallest parachute will fall the fastest?
