Hola!
Don't we look fab! We have had a great Mexican Day and taken part in lots of exciting activities.
Maths Bronze Award Winners
Well done to our youngest and newest bronze award winners for their rapid recall of multiplication and division facts!
Capacity Challenge
We took advantage of the good weather to go outside for our maths lesson, using water to estimate capacity and then checking using measuring cylinders. We found out how accurate our estimates were by calculating the difference.
Fractions Fun
Today we made an Equivalent Fractions Museum in our classroom and we had fun working on our exhibits using the Maths skills we have learned this week.
Our Longest Bean
Leah tried to measure our longest bean - it was tricky because it wasn't straight! With Bailey's good idea to use a strip of paper to follow the curve of the beanpod, we found that our longest bean measured 24.9 cm!
Growing Success
Today some children went out to the Eco Garden with Miss Clegg to harvest the beans we planted there. When they came back what a surprise we all had! Look at Year 3's bumper crop!
Name those bones!
On Monday we found out that skeletons play an important part during the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) celebrations in Mexico so we decided to spend this afternoon learning about skeletons. We talked about why we have a skeleton and discovered the names of some of the bones. We each made a…
Día de Muertos
As part of our Mexico topic we have been learning about the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) this week. Imagine our delight when three of our children brought in some things that they have been working on at home. A huge thank-you to Holly S and Leah for making the decorated skulls from air…
Ascension Day Reminders
We made something to remind us of what happened on Ascension Day.
We thought about traffic lights to try to remember the instructions Jesus gave to his disciples as He went back to Heaven:
(Red) Stop in Jerusalem
(Amber) Wait for the Holy Spirit
(Green) Go out into the whole…
This Week's Special Day
We are all busy making something to show what we have learned about this week's special day on Thursday. Do you know what it is all about?
It is Ascension Day on Thursday. Ask Year 3 what it's all about and what we were making...
Rounders Fun!
We have really enjoyed learning to play rounders with a PE teacher from Kearsley Academy coming in to teach us. Our catching and throwing skills are really improving now. We are also learning the rules of the game and we are getting much better at stopping at the right time to avoid running our…
