Year 1 Blog

Well done to everyone for making fantastic Easter bonnets.  Look at who won 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Year 1!

As part of our Maths work we have been using the Bee Bots to help us understand all about position, direction and turns.

It was trickier than we thought it would be!

We had a great time completing our 'Run for Serrekunda'.  We definitely had lots of fun and got very muddy!

In Year 1 we have to learn about the seasons.  We found out all about Autumn, but then when it came to Winter nothing really changed.  Finally, today we got to go outside and look for signs of Winter.  It was worth the wait!

Look who was Year 1's winner for our story writing competition, well done!

Today we have been busy measuring how tall Jack's beanstalk is.  It was very tricky!

Today someone did some super sentences and got to visit Mr. Lasan, well done!

Today we are very busy adding the finishing touches to our potted seeds.  You will need to be quick to buy one on Friday, everyone wants them!

As a break from all our mini enterprise work we created some symmetrical butterflies in our Topic lesson.  

When we were reading Percy's stories we noticed how brightly coloured butterflies are so tried to recreate them.
