Today we went to Church for the first time for Year 5's Harvest Assembly.
We donated our food items and gathered them on a table. 
We were heart-warmed by the amount of donations from our school and community that will be shared across local food banks and charities in Kearsley. 

Today was our first session in Forest Schools. 
We practiced our safety rules and explored the forest environment whilst looking at signs of Autumn including leaves falling off the trees and ripe wild berries.

Today we had our first Buddy session with Year 6.
We enjoyed showing them around our classroom and asking them lots of questions.
Next week in Buddy time we will be choosing a book from the library to take home and share with our family.

We have had a wonderful first day in school and we have also been very brave trying new things and learning a new routine.

Today our butterflies hatched out of their cocoons and began flying.

We have looked after our caterpillars for the last 3 weeks, watching them eat and grow.
We watched them spin themselves into a cocoons to begin the chrysalis stage of their life cycle.
