Awards given for super learner, brilliant behaviour and Good Samaritan of year one. There is also a double winner this week who not only has been awarded the star award but also Mrs Robinson's Reader of the week!

Thank you for all your support, the children (and you) have created some exceptional learning logs to support our new topic!

We would really recommend reading the story Meerkat Mail written by Emily Gravett. Some children even wrote in their reviews that it was the best book ever and that the author and illustrator is very talented! I think we have some very talented book reviewers too.

Year one have been exploring how many star jumps, bunny hops, skips etc that they can complete in one minute to secure the concept of time. Try asking your child how long an activity takes, estimating first before timing it, you'll be amazed by some of their answers!

Today we attempted a fitness trail in PE... I think we have some very tired Year One children. Please ensure everyone has outdoor  PE footwear, in school, ready for sports day and our weekly athletics sessions.

Well done everyone for rising to our mad 2 minute challenge in maths. We even had a top score of twenty out of twenty! Please find your child's results in their book bag ready to rehearse any questions missed out. Let's try and attempt every question.

We are busily researching Sunny the Meerkats homeland using atlases and representing the different landscapes and climates around the world.
