Whilst on our butterfly hunt the children got a little distracted by our resident frogs. Perhaps it's the lesser known green frog butterfly!

Today we took part in the Big Butterfly Count which is a national event happening today. We had to spend fifteen minutes in our Eco garden and record our results on a butterfly identification sheet before submitting them online. Year one have been rather kind and have decided that they saw small…

Wow a wonderful challenge completed by this trio - a multiple of 4 grid!

The children used their own sorting criteria to sort out our animals using a venn diagram. The children sorted them by colour and number of legs. Great independent learning.

The girls decided to test their friends using the class hundred square with my counting sticks!

Some members of Year One worked collaboratively to produce our carpet tile one hundred square.

Fabulous news to end with, five of our children are ready to progress onto the next maths challenge that will recommence in September when we move across into Year 2. 

Using PVA glue and layers of tissue paper we are beginning to create our symbols for our reflection area in our new classroom.

Our origami skills are really improving, just take a look at our beautiful butterflies that are ready to flutter to Year Two with us in the new year!

A quick reminder that all reading books will be collected in next week alongside reading records so we can prepare for our new academic year.
