The Stone Age people ate food just like you and I do but do you know what kinds of food they ate? They were also known as hunter-gatherers but why? Are you and your family hunter-gatherers? I would like you to do a piece of research based on Stone Age food. Let me know what you found out in the comment box below.

The Stone Age people ate fish, berries and other animals! They also hunted animals for their fur to make clothes!

hi Miss kinsey i have found out what the stone age people ate;
fruit and nuts, fish, eggs and plants. A hunter gatherer is someone who lives mostly by hunting and fishing also harvesting wild food. Me and my family are not hunter gatherers because we go to the supermarket for our food. Stay safe stay healthy bye miss kinsey ?????????????..?..

Hi Benjamin,
They most certainly did. Did you know that they used all parts of the animal? Nothing was wasted.
Do you know the names of any animals which were hunted?

Hi Amelia,
Would you like to have been a hunter-gatherer? I wouldn't make a very good one as I wouldn't know which plants are safe to eat.
You stay safe as well and keep smiling :)

Hi Benjamin!
Wolves were used to help with hunting so they didn't eat them. Some people believe that wolves were first domesticated 10 000 years ago whereas other think 30 000 years ago. There are also some cave paintings showing how they helped with the hunt.
Our Stone Age ancestors used to hunt many animals to eat and one of them was the woolly mammoth. They used all parts of the animal. There is a fabulous book called Stone Age Boy from which you can learn about the Stone Age and how they lived. There is a reading of the book on youtube - just type the name of the book in youtube. I am going to make a post about this because this is a book that we were going to spend a lot of time on in our classroom.
