Live Wire Assembly
This morning, Janet Clarke from Network Rail led a special assembly for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils to alert children to the dangers of playing near railway tracks. She also gave a separate talk to the Reception Class using resources designed specifically for that age group.
Morning Worship
Reverend Karsten led our morning worship today in church.
It's all About the Bikes (No Trouble)
Welcome back! It's been a busy start to the second half of the Summer Term - just paused long enough to write the first blog of the week. As you can see, the new bike racks are in place and I'm happy to report that we need to order some more (sixteen children rode to school this morning!).
Take a Trip to the ECO Garden
Next time you're in the school playground, take a stroll to look at our ECO Garden. Led by the ECO Team, our staff, parents and children have done a wonderful job in transforming the area into a fantastic resource for outdoor study.
Rounders 1 Kearsley Weather 0
Despite dark skies and the threat of rain the inter-house Rounders Competition went ahead as planned. The whole of Key Stage 2 (120 pupils) took part, batting, bowling and fielding with great enthusiasm and skill. Congratulations to Ullswater - inter-house Rounders Champions 2015.
Knit and Natter
What better way to end a busy Wednesday at school than by knitting and nattering? (Although there doesn't seem to be much nattering going on in the picture - too busy concentrating - or posing!) Knit and Natter is just one of the many after school clubs on offer at St Stephen's. A big THANK YOU…
Monday Morning Assembly
Welcome to our working week! Monday morning assembly is always a good time to get everyone together and remind them what St Stephen's is all about and the part that EVERYONE has to play as we look forward to another busy week. The children look very smart - thank you - if you can't see YOUR dear…
Top Table
Always a great way to end the week - lunch with the Star Award winners. It's been a pretty intensive week and the children (and staff) all deserve a weekend break. Enjoy!
Breakfast at Cafe Andrea
Year 6 are halfway through their SATs - and Cafe Andrea is doing a roaring trade every morning. Thanks to support from Andrea and Y2K the children have an enjoyable, relaxing and nutritious start to the day. It's MATHS today and tomorrow then it's all over and the children can smile again!
Music to my ears!
I love Tuesdays! Mr Lee our Music Teacher is in all day and the school is filled with music and song all day long. I spotted Year 2 in the hall this afternoon - COMPOSING and playing their own tunes.....very impressive!
Dig for Victory!
In the on-going battle to improve our school grounds the support of Dad's (or Mum's) Army is vital. Today thanks are due to Jimmy Seggi who has been busy all morning planting some bushes in the top yard and helping to bring some life and colour to the environment. It's also improved the view from…
Top Table
I love Fridays! Not only does it signal the start of the weekend but I get to eat lunch with the previous week's Star Award winners on the Top Table. Here they are about to enjoy Friday lunch - despite being 'photo-bombed' by Andrea! (We didn't mind really because lunch was, as usual, delicious).…
