Library Books
Today every child in Year 1 will bring home a library book. We will visit our school library every Wednesday afternoon and we will be able to change our book or renew our existing one. It is going to be really important that the children have their library books in school on a Wednesday so we…
Tattybogle
This morning we have started to learn about scarecrows.
Our aim is to build our own scarecrow in time for Kearsley's Scarecrow Festival.
We enjoyed reading the story of 'Tattybogle' and then labelling the different parts of him.
Our 1st P.E. Lesson
Look at us using ribbons and streamers to create letters and shapes during our first Year 1 P.E. lesson.
We had lots of fun!
Meet Marley!
This morning we had something rather strange brought in from home.
This little frog, who has been named Marley, had been found in someone's garden and is now living happily in our Eco Garden.
Welcome to Year 1
We have had a very busy first day in Year 1. We have done some number work, painting, reading and free choice activities. Why don't you ask us all about it?
Wax Resists
We used our number bonds from this morning as the start of our wax resist. We had to use one of our additions and write it with wax crayons. Then we painted over it and we were very surprised as we could still see the numbers!
Number Bonds Work
This morning we have been showing Miss Stokes and Miss Smith how clever we are. We have been working on our number bonds to 10 and 20 and trying to write them down.
Under The Sea
Do you remember ages ago when we made a mess with newspaper and paint?
Well...this is our final masterpiece!
Isn't it amazing!
Treasure Maps
Today we will be bringing home our treasure maps.
We hope they help you find some exciting treasure!
Our Trip to Blackpool
Last Thursday we visited Blackpool. We started our day in the Sealife Centre where we saw lots of fish, sea horses and sharks. We even got to touch a starfish!
Then we had a picnic and played on the beach. We found lots of jelly fish and shells.
Voting for New Playground Markings
This morning Mr Lasan set us a special challenge. We had to vote for which new playground markings we would like. We looked outside to see what we already have and then voted for which new designs we would like. We had 5 votes each. We placed a sticker on each of our votes.
