Hi everyone!

Hope you're all behaving for your grown ups and keeping extra safe.  Just incase anyone has already finished all their work they took home here are some ideas for next week.

Maths - keep working on those 2, 5 and 10 times tables and if you're feeling really clever get a grown up to help you with your 3 x table.  You could even make it first (1 lot of 3 sweeties, 2 lots of 3 sweeties, etc.)  If you've not got any sweets you could use anything at all to make it! We were due to start our work on telling the time so you could make your own analogue clock and use it to help you learn o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.  We also need to understand just how long one minute is, get a grown up to set a timer and see how many times you can do something in a minute.  You could see how many times you can write your name, count to ten, how many star jumps you can do or anything else you think of!

Science - do some work on floating and sinking.  Get a bucket in the garden or use the bath and put lots of different things in it.  Do they sink or float?  What do all the sinking/floating things have in common? Can you make a boat/raft that floats? Don't forget you will need a grown up to help with the water.

English & RE - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0PSgoPdKQFQ watch the Children's Bible Easter story (the same one we saw before we finished) and then draw pictures to retell the story.  You could add labels to your pictures or just write the story too.  You could pick a character out of the story and describe them using 2A, LIST and simile sentences. Don't forget to use 'but' and 'because'!

Art - make a rainbow and put it somewhere for everyone to see. If you've already got one make one for someone else and a little letter to go with it.  If you make one for someone else ask a grown up if you can post it through their door first.

PE - copy Joe Wicks on YouTube.  It's 9am everyday, but if you miss the start you can find it at any time.  Me and Miss Smith have been doing it too!

All of these are only ideas that will help the children.  In addition to these Study Ladder is being updated frequently and Times Tables Rockstars (TTRS) is set for age appropriate times tables.  Both of these require passwords which are in the back of the children's reading record books.

A new website we now have access to is Bug Club (https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0).  This is full of age appropriate reading and phonics books for the children.  As it is new the children don't know their login details, but they are really easy to work out.  The username is the first four letters from both the first name and surname (e.g. Rachel Smith would use rachsmit) and in lower case.  Everyone's password is LolaRose5 and our school code is 7tsh.

Most importantly keep yourselves safe,

Miss Stokes
