King Charles II was a very clever King, he was forward thinking and admired by many as he went to help out during the fire. He grabbed a fire hook and began to pull the houses down to create a gap between the homes so the fire couldn't spread as easily. He also suggested hollowing out the trunks of trees to create a water tube and enlisted the help of soldiers outside London. He learned from previous mistakes and recommended that London should be rebuilt using stone walls instead of wood and that homes should be farther apart in future constructions.
