Reception Blog

Today we travelled on the number 8 bus to Farnworth Library. We enjoyed listening to stories and joining in with rhymes with Clare.

Oh what fun we had this afternoon. We learnt the Wonky Donkey song. We listened carefully to the words and followed the instructions- we had to freeze every time the donkey shouted hee haw! It was sooooo much fun!

Today we started our phonics programme. We had lots of fun using the Swing ball to help us learn the letter ‘s’.

In Reception today, as part of our celebrations, we have been learning about Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy! 

Would you believe it though, we think Bottomley Potts has been to school this morning and hidden his gravy bones!  We have had lots of fun trying to find them all!

This morning we have been very busy playing the jelly bean game. We had to use our listening skills  and make sure we stayed in a space. #verytrickywhenyouareonly4 

Look at us in Year 1.  We've had lots of fun and have even made some collage crosses for our new classroom.

In our R.E lesson today we have been learning The Lords Prayer. We also coloured some bookmarks that contained the words of the prayer.

This morning we have been painting penguins using watercolours with Mr Templeton. He helped us to create our beautiful pictures by talking us through it step by step. You will be absolutely amazed when you see your own child's artwork!!

This afternoon we were lucky enough to have a visit from Andrea our local PCSO.  The children really enjoyed listening to her and asking her lots of questions. 

This week we are learning about 3D shapes. We have been having fun outside trying to find as many different shapes as we can. Our busy bee activity this morning was to follow repeating patterns using shapes.

On the climactic week of this term we will be exploring a range of artists right across the school. To support one of these exciting sessions I need about seventy empty variety pack sized cereal boxes. If you have any (or a similar brand) at home in your recycling boxes I would be extremely…
