Brilliant Baking!
Wow! One of our mums made these cakes for tomorrow's 'Coffee Afternoon for Macmillan'. Join us at two o'clock to see if they taste as scrumptious as they look!
Year 5 - Making Friends with the Locals
Year 5 arrived safely in Grasmere and called in at the Owl Sanctuary this morning, where Miss Clegg and the children were introduced to Clyde (the owl - not the handler!)
Soccer Superstars!
Last night, St Stephen's footballers represented the school in a mini league tournament at Little Lever High School. Played two - won two. Well done boys!
On Their Way!
Early this morning, thirty very excited Year 5 children (and three equally excited staff!) set off for the residential trip to Grasmere. They'll be learning about 'contrasting locations' (Grasmere compared to Kearsley) - I wish I was going with them!
Bull's Eye!
It's not just IN school that our children hit their targets. One of our Year 1 pupils is pictured above looking rightly pleased with himself having hit the bull's eye (for the third time) at the recent Archery Day on the school playing field. Well done!
Magical!
All our tree dwelling scarecrows are characters from the popular children's book 'The Magic Faraway Tree'. The children (and staff) have done a brilliant job of bringing Moon -Face, Dame Washalot, Silky and the Saucepan Man (amongst others) to life.
The Finishing Touch
Mr Williams (Site Manager) ably assisted by Mr Seggie (School Governor) puts the finishing touches to this year's St Stephen's entry in the Kearsley Scarecrow Festival. Thank you gentlemen!
