Year 6 Eco Warriors 10 - Himalayan Balsam 0
Despite the wet weather, Year 6 met yesterday's challenge of clearing a large area of Himalayan Balsam in the Gravel Pits with great enthusiasm. We were damp but not downhearted and really earned our picnic lunch.
Great Weather for Clearing Himalayan Balsam!
I'm joining Year 6 for the day for a bit of conservation work. We are going up to the Gravel Pits at Moses Gate to help clear areas that have become overgrown with Himalayan Balsam (see picture). As it's typical July weather we'll be in waterproofs and wellies!
Year 6 SATs Results
Results of the End of Key Stage Two Assessment Tests (better known as Y6 SATs) were released yesterday - and they make for very positive reading. We were ABOVE the national averages in all areas - well done to the Class of 2016!
Top Table - Top Guests!
Another Top Table - another very enjoyable lunchtime. My guests this week were very well-mannered and good company (and had VERY healthy appetites) - well done!

The Morning After the Sponges Before
Mr Williams and I have just about recovered from our time in the wet sponge stocks at yesterday's Summer Fair. We were treated to approximately 300 wet sponges between us and the children were cheered on enthusiastically by the parents. THANK YOU for your support (I think!).
