Nocturnal Acrostic Poems
Continuing with our Topic work on nocturnal animals we have been making our own acrostic poems. We had to use either nocturnal, hedgehog, badger or fox as the basis of our poem. We had lots of good ideas and they look really good displayed in our nocturnal area.
Can you find anything out…
What are we making?
As part of our Topic work on nocturnal animals we are busy making our very own bats!
Making our own similes
Remember yesterday when we had been building similes with special cards? Well today we have been making our own similes using our own ideas! Have you asked us to tell you a simile yet?
Addition superstars!
This morning we started to work on something brand new in Numeracy. At first it looked really tricky but by playtime we were getting really good at it, let's hope it's even easier tomorrow!
Computerised Nocturnal Animals
This afternoon we have been using ictgames on the Internet to research nocturnal animals. We then worked on 2Simple to create a picture of our favourite nocturnal animal.
Building Similes
Today we have been learning about a new sentence type, similes. We had lots of fun using the special cards to build our own similes. Why not ask us to tell you a simile?
Star Award Winner
Congratulations to last week's Star Award winner, who won it for his brilliant singing during our Easter assembly.
Thank you letters
This afternoon we have been busy working in groups to write thank you letters to Ian and Nanna Pauline from the North Wales Bird Trust. Once we had finished our letters one person from each group shared it with the rest of the class.
Super work!
This morning we have been really busy writing all about the owls. We have tried really hard to use our best handwriting and lots of clever adjectives!
Year 2's Special Visitors
Today we had a visit from some very special owls, Delwyn, Charlie, Maxine and Fergus. We found out all about them and other types of nocturnal animals.
PE Kits
This morning we went outside for PE, but not everyone had their kits. Could you please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day.
Thank you
