Yesterday, we had a fantastic trip to the Catalyst Museum in Widnes. We took part in a science investigation in a real science lab and then had lots of fun looking at the exhibitions.
When we had arrived, we went to the science lab. We learned all about roacksalt and its uses. We then talked about how we might separate the salt from the sand. We crushed, dissolved, filtered and evaporated our mixture to separate the two.
After this we went into the observatory. This was a room right at the top of the museum, you could see for miles around. There were lots of things to look at including building bridges, electronic microscopes and ecological information.
After our dinner we then hd a chance to look at some more scientific exhibitions. There were so many things to look at and learn about some of us didn't know what to do first! There were 3 floors of exhibitions and lots of puzzles to solve.
At the end of the day we had just enough time to go onto the play area outside. We played on tyre swings and rope bridges and had a chance to go on a zip wire. Even Mrs Hall, Miss Clegg and Mr Williams had a go, Mrs Taylor said there was no chance of her getting on it!!
