As well as teaching the National Curriculum at St Stephen's, we believe that in order for a child to reach their full potential and become successful in their future learning and life, it is important to bring out qualities which are hard to develop within the constraints of the regular day.  Therefore we have developed an Enrichment Afternoon, which takes place every Friday from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.

During this time children enjoy a range of activity sessions run by staff and volunteers.  The sessions are geared to teach important 'Life Skills' and to develop creativity.  These skills include:

teamwork, self discipline, co-operation, problem solving, decision making, communication, leadership, self-motivation

Children sign up to these sessions on a first come, first served basis.  The sessions are run in mixed age groups and last for a Half Term. They are not allowed to repeat the same session during the year, enabling them to gain wide and varied learning.

The activities on offer are:

Gardening/STEM - get physical, digging, planting and growing to improve our school grounds during summer and learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) during the harsh winter months.

Cookery - learn what it takes to be a first class chef
