Topic Challenges

This term our topic challenge is called Mexico. This is a geography based topic where we will be learning about what life is like in Mexico as well as identifying and comparing the physical and human features of Mexico with life in Kearsley. We will also explore Mexican culture and cuisine.  After October half term we will learn about the Maya Civilisation as part of our history learning. We will learn about the way of life, customs and traditions and the myths and legends which the Maya are famous for.  To link with Kinich Ahau, the sun god, we will be developing our scientific knowledge and understanding about light

Class Novel

We are reading The BFG by Roald Dahl which is about a Big Friendly Giant who spirits an orphan, Sophie, out of bed and takes her to the land of the child-eating giants. We are enjoying this book immensely and read it as often as we can.
