Reception

Welcome to Reception

Welcome to our wacky and wonderful team - Mrs Hughes and Mrs Bostock. They keep us very busy with lots of exciting activities but they couldn't do this without their wonderful helpers. Take a look at our Reception Blog link below to see what we have been doing in class.

We also have our own Learning Wall - see link below. We use the resources on the Wall to research out topics and curriculum work in school. Please use these resources at home to further develop your child's learning.

Foundation Stage

In Foundation Stage our learning is derived from the children's interests. When your child enters Foundation Stage they will have submitted a list of their personal interests, which are taken into consideration and used as a basis to create a child led curriculum.  Within that curriculum there are a number of areas of learning:

UW - Understanding the World

PSED - Personal, Social, Emotional Development

CL - Communication and Language

L - Literacy

M - Mathematics

PD - Physical Development

EAD - Expressive Arts and Design

Children will be assessed, through play and observations, against these areas throughout thier first year in school.
